A steady support role with a local, values-led provider

Love 2 Live Right is looking for a Female Disability Support Worker to join their team across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

This is a role for someone who understands that good support is not just about completing tasks. It is about bringing calm, consistency and respect into someone’s day. It is about helping life feel more organised, more manageable and more connected.

Love 2 Live Right provides ageing and disability home care support with a focus on dignity, choice and personalised support. They are a local NDIS registered provider based in the Newcastle region, supporting people with daily living, routines, community participation, life skills and meaningful goals.

This role would suit a support worker who is mature-minded, reliable, neuro-affirming and comfortable being a steady presence for participants who benefit from structure, patience and thoughtful support.

About the role

This is a casual position, starting at approximately 10–15 hours per week.

Current regular shifts are:

Monday: 8:30am – 10:30am
Wednesday: 9:30am – 2:00pm
Thursday: 8:00am – 2:30pm

The role includes supporting participants with:

  • Daily living tasks and ADLs

  • Life organisation and practical routines

  • Coaching, encouragement and gentle accountability

  • Building structure around daily and weekly activities

  • Community access and social participation

  • Working toward individual NDIS goals

  • Creating calm, respectful and consistent support relationships

This is not a “rush in, rush out” kind of support role. Love 2 Live Right is looking for someone who can notice what matters, stay steady under pressure, and support people in a way that feels organised, respectful and person-led.

About you

You might be a good fit for this role if you are someone who:

  • Brings a calm and grounded presence to your work

  • Understands neuro-affirming support in practice, not just in theory

  • Is proactive without being pushy

  • Can support routines while still respecting choice and autonomy

  • Communicates clearly and respectfully

  • Is LGBTQI+ inclusive in your values and practice

  • Takes reliability seriously, because consistency matters deeply in support work

Essential requirements

You will need:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or at least 1 year of industry experience

  • At least 6 months’ experience supporting people with ASD, ADHD, mental health and behaviour support needs

  • A genuinely neuro-affirming approach

  • LGBTQI+ friendly values and practice

  • Current NDIS Worker Check

  • Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Modules

  • Current First Aid and CPR

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Reliable vehicle with full comprehensive insurance

Why this role may appeal to you

This is a good opportunity for a support worker who is looking for meaningful, relationship-based work with a local provider.

The hours are currently part-time casual, but the role has a clear focus: supporting participants with daily life, routines, community connection and personal goals in a way that is calm, respectful and organised.

For the right person, this is the kind of support work where your consistency, emotional steadiness and practical thinking will genuinely matter.

How to apply

Please email your resume and a brief cover letter to:

peita@l2lright.com.au

In your cover letter, please highlight your experience with neuro-affirming practice, and share how you approach calm, organised, participant-led support.

Important note

Due to participant requirements, this role is open to female applicants only. The employer has advised this is an exemption under relevant Equal Opportunity legislation.
